TRAP KIT is part of an on going series of installations that have come out of Timothy Norths past shows with HOVERDRUM. They are kinetic and fluid representation of the basic drum set also known as traps or trap-kit.

As a drummer he tries to turn his music and sculptures into something that is also a visual representation of the BEAT.

These instruments are much different than others because they help determine the outcome of the performance and end musical result.

Only a portion of the drums and objects that he will perform on will be hard mounted. All the other items within the structure are free to move to some degree.

The overall installation is wired with strain-gauges other wise know as contact microphones.

The vibrations that these are able to pick-up are send through an array of digital signal processing, some on-board the installation and some being sent to DJ VORDO'S rig for additional processing.
